DAILY RED · YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Daily Red uses information when you play, share a result or send us feedback at dailyredgame.org.

Who we are

Daily Red is a free, unofficial Pokémon fan game. In this policy, “we” means the operator of Daily Red. The game does not require a registered account and does not have public comments or player profiles. You can contact us through the Feedback form on the game page.

Saved games and browser storage

The game uses local storage in your browser to remember your daily results, wins, losses, streaks and unfinished Easy or Hard battle. An active save includes your team, chosen actions and the random values needed to resume the same battle. It also keeps summary tracking counters so resuming does not count as a new attempt.

Difficulty, appearance, sound and read-update preferences are stored on your device. Emulator records are separate, and some Emulator preferences use storage that lasts for the browser session.

These saves do not sync to an account or another device. Clearing Daily Red’s site data removes your local progress and preferences. Summary gameplay events are sent to Analytics as described below; the full replay can be sent with feedback only if you choose to attach it.

Analytics and game improvements

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use Daily Red, find problems and improve the game. Our events cover game readiness, mode changes, battle starts and resumes, progress, wins and losses, feature use, sharing outcomes, feedback delivery and fixed error categories.

Depending on the event, reports include the challenge date, Easy or Hard difficulty, browser or Emulator mode, daily or practice play, turns, opponents defeated, Pokémon remaining, move and switch totals, misses, time in the foreground and game version.

Our gameplay events do not contain your feedback message, email address, full team, battle replay or random seed. Google’s service also receives technical information when your browser connects, such as the page address and IP address, and uses cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits and activity.

Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Feedback and optional battle details

If you submit feedback, we receive the message and any email address you choose to provide. We use them to answer you, investigate issues and improve Daily Red. Our form is delivered through Formspree, which processes form data and related technical information to provide its service and prevent abuse. See Formspree’s Privacy Policy.

The Include battle details checkbox is off by default. If you select it, the submission includes your browser battle’s team, starting random seed, chosen actions, challenge date, difficulty, version and battle state. You can preview these details before sending. They help us reproduce the problem and are sent with your feedback, not as Analytics events.

Feedback analytics record when the form opens, whether delivery succeeds or fails, fixed error categories and whether battle details were included. They do not contain the message or email. Please avoid including passwords or other sensitive information in your message.

Sharing tools and third-party cookies

Our result-sharing buttons use your device’s share menu or clipboard. You choose where to send the result. Shared text contains your score and a link to Daily Red; it does not include your full team or battle replay. The service you share to handles that information under its own policy.

The game page also loads ShareThis sharing tools. ShareThis may collect information about browsing and sharing activity, page addresses, browser or device information, IP addresses and cookie identifiers. Collection can occur when the tools load, even if you do not click a share button.

ShareThis describes using and sharing this data with partners for analytics, audience profiling and targeted advertising. Its Privacy Notice and opt-out controls explain these uses and the choices available to you.

Hosting and other disclosures

Daily Red uses Cloudflare to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare processes technical request information, which can include IP addresses, traffic and routing information, to provide its services. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Information is handled by the providers described above for the services they supply. These providers may process data in countries other than your own; their privacy notices explain their practices and transfer safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address abuse or protect the site and its users.

Links to other websites are governed by those websites’ policies. This policy applies to Daily Red.

How long information is kept

Local game records and preferences remain until you clear site data, your browser removes them, or the game replaces or updates a save. Session storage ends with the relevant browser session.

We keep feedback and any attached battle details for handling your request and investigating the issue. You can contact us to request deletion. Analytics, form-service and hosting data are retained according to the relevant service settings and provider policies; there is no single retention period for all of these services. Information may need to be retained for legal or security reasons.

Your choices and privacy requests

  • Browser data: use your browser’s settings to view, block or delete cookies and site storage. Deleting game storage also deletes your saved battles and records.
  • Google Analytics: Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.
  • ShareThis: visit its privacy and opt-out page. Choices may need to be set separately for each browser or device and renewed if opt-out cookies are deleted.
  • Feedback: leave the email field blank if you do not want to provide an address, and leave battle details unchecked if you do not want to send a replay.

The game page currently loads Analytics and ShareThis when the page opens. Blocking cookies alone may not stop all requests to those services. This privacy page does not load their scripts.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to certain uses, or complain to a data protection authority. Use the contact option below to make a request about information we hold. Provider-specific requests can also be made through the linked privacy notices.

Children’s information

Playing does not require a name or email address. Children should ask a parent or guardian before submitting personal information in feedback. If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should be removed, please contact us with enough detail to locate the submission.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the game or the services it uses change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
