MADE FOR A DAILY RITUAL
Daily Red
credits & sources.
Daily Red brings original interface work and audio together with community software and Pokémon artwork. Here is where those parts come from.
Original project
Daily Red is inspired by amoi-builds / Daily Red. The Easy and Hard browser modes use a JavaScript battle simulator, separate image assets and synthesized audio. They do not load a ROM. The optional Emulator mode loads the archived FireRed-based game and its original battle engine.
Original soundtrack and scenery
“Thin Air,” “Last Light,” and the victory and defeat cues were composed for the browser edition using square and triangle synthesizers and generated percussion. Menu, switch, attack and faint effects are also synthesized. The browser soundtrack does not use recordings of the original games’ music.
The snowy arena illustration, page design and interface were created for this browser edition. Audio starts when you begin or resume a battle, unless you choose mute. You can also enable Sound to hear the summit theme before playing.
Battle simulation
Easy and Hard are powered by @pkmn/sim, a browser-compatible extraction of the Pokémon Showdown simulator, distributed under the MIT License. Read the simulator license.
The daily team rules and RED’s roster are inspired by the original Daily Red project. This edition has its own date-seeded team generator and opponent policy; it does not reproduce FireRed’s AI or random sequence exactly. New browser attempts use fresh battle randomness, and saved attempts keep their rolls.
Sprites and typography
Front sprites: Pokémon Emerald. Back sprites: Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen. Images are provided through the PokeAPI sprite repository; see sprite provenance. The RED trainer image comes from the original project’s FireRed assets.
Pixelify Sans is licensed under the SIL Open Font License. See also the third-party license notices.
Fan project and attribution
