YOUR FIRST TRIP TO THE SUMMIT
How to play
Daily Red.
Defeat all six of RED’s Pokémon before your own team faints. Your team changes each day; the choices you make are yours.
Choose your challenge
Use the Easy / Hard switch above the arena. Easy provides strong Pokémon with straightforward tools. Hard offers a varied daily team with useful attacks and support moves. Each difficulty has its own daily attempt, saved battle and record. If you’re learning the game, start with Easy.
Read your team and pick a lead
Tap or click each teammate to inspect its moves, starting stats, ability and held item. To change your opener, select the Pokémon and press Send out first. The LEAD badge confirms your choice. Simply inspecting a Pokémon does not set it as the lead.
RED starts with Pikachu. Check its moves and stats, then decide who can handle that opening matchup. When you’re ready, press Challenge RED.
Choose a move or a switch
Tap a move, or press 1–4 on desktop. Moves display their type, Physical / Special / Status category and remaining PP. On mobile, Move info opens the fuller descriptions.
To switch, select a living teammate and press Switch to…. Switching normally uses your turn, so the incoming Pokémon may take the opponent’s attack. After your Pokémon faints, choose a surviving replacement. Some effects prevent voluntary switching.
Follow the battle
Watch the message beneath the arena and the HP bars. The desktop battle log keeps recent actions visible; on a phone, tap Battle log. The speed control toggles 1× / 2× playback. The Sound button controls the original music and effects.
Type matchups are only part of the decision. Nature, training, status, held items and move priority matter too. Read the Gen III guide if a Pokémon acts first or a move behaves differently than you expected.
Save your result and practice
Win or lose, your daily result is recorded in this browser. Share the compact result text to compare with friends without giving away a route. Then choose Try again in practice to experiment. You can pick a new lead before each practice run, and practice never changes your daily win or loss.
Common questions
When does the next team arrive?
At midnight in your local time zone. Players on the same calendar date and difficulty get the same team. Players in different time zones can be on different dates. An unfinished older daily challenge is settled when you open a new day.
Can I leave and come back?
Yes, Easy and Hard battles save after each accepted turn. Open the same browser and choose Resume your battle. Saves and records do not sync between devices. Clearing site data removes them. Emulator uses separate records and does not use the browser battle’s turn-by-turn resume.
Why did practice turn out differently?
New battles use fresh chance rolls for accuracy, critical hits and secondary effects. The team stays the same for that date and difficulty. A saved battle retains its original rolls, so refreshing cannot reroll a turn.
What does Emulator mode do?
It loads the original FireRed-based game with its own controls and battle engine. New Emulator runs use the daily Hard team. Its opponent AI and outcomes can differ, and its records are separate. Easy / Hard are the browser modes described in this guide.
Something looks wrong. How do I report it?
Open the speech-bubble feedback button on the game page, or visit Contact. Include the date, difficulty, Pokémon and move involved. For an Easy / Hard battle, the optional Include battle details checkbox sends the information needed to reproduce your attempt.
